Hello! We need to talk about playing and bringing ourselves into balance. I wrote for the podcast this month about play, joy, and fun. I don’t want to repeat it here, but I can’t ignore the nudges from Spirit to address it. The fairies even got involved – see the card below! So, let’s chat about it. Playing or having fun is one of the best ways to reset. We all need it much more often than we probably allow. It doesn’t have to be a big deal in the way you play or have fun or experience joy, but it can be. Fun doesn’t have to be play. But play does have to be fun.
You likely know my adventure in late June was to move my daughter to LA. I challenged myself to make it fun, to find the joy, and definitely to make some time to play. This was a really hard experience because in addition to my daughter, my playmate, leaving, I am not so great of a traveler, I like being in my own space. So, I kicked it up to adventure level and planned to add some fun. I treated us well so we would be more comfortable and intentionally created a positive experience. For example, rather than sleeping on the floor of her empty apartment the first night after traveling all day and being exhausted, we grabbed a hotel room. We slept 10 hours and awoke in gratitude and joy for that hotel room. It was a really intense time. Lauren ended up going right to a new job, a huge blessing, but a free time fun killer. Although things did not go as planned, honestly there was not much fun, we did little things that made us laugh. On the last night I was there we found an amazing LA experience of an ice cream place. The ice cream was so good I stopped in my tracks on the first taste. And the whole vibe of the place was not Maryland - that was fun. I am energetically in a deficit at this point. I really need to have some fun, to play, to find joy in the little things and reset this month. We need to take care of ourselves so we don’t burn out. Honestly, connecting to Spirit with you takes a lot of energy and requires my energy to be strong and clear. There is so much going for all of us right now. Please take care of yourself! What can you do this month to create the needed balance for yourself of nurturing your inner child and playing? Can you crank up your music and sing along or take a bike ride, a walk, or a swim, what about playing card games, board games, or coloring? I am really curious about how you play. Feel free to message me and let me know! This month, I am going to really try to step up fully into the reset of play. I do feel this is an important topic and one I don’t do enough. I think singing overly loudly will be perfect. Take good care of yourself and have some fun this month, please. Your energetic body will thank you.
